We are all conscious of the need to save resources and SLB Building Services Ltd is able to offer advice on and installation of rainwater harvesters, air and ground source heat pumps as well as solar panels for heating water and photovoltaic cells to generate electricity.

Water Efficiency

Toilets use about 30% of the total water used in a household.

The latest low-flush toilets are more water-efficient dual-flush toilets and use only six litres for a full flush and four litres with a reduced flush.

Using rainwater via a rainwater harvester to flush some or all of a households’  toilets can significantly reduce water consumption. The rainwater can also be used for washing machines.

If you are building a new home, you must ensure that it will have a predicted water consumption of less than 125 litres/person/day using the methodology outlined in the ‘Water Efficiency Calculator for New Dwellings’.
